Joseph Filippi

Joey Filippi is a single father to one son who is now grown and on his own. Joey was a school bus driver for Clark County School District in Las Vegas for seventeen years. While he did have routes in the Las Vegas Metro area he spent the last several years servicing the outlying areas of Searchlight and Boulder City, Nevada. Joey enjoyed his time a school bus driver as he enjoyed the kids and the time off it afforded him. He has a passion for playing golf and regularly plays in amateur tournaments. During the Covid pandemic he was one of the lucky ones that never missed a paycheck. Even though the schools were closed and there were no children to transport, in an effort to help keep the staff from leaving, the district continued to pay employees.  It was during this time away from driving bus along with that Joey seriously began to look at other avenues career wise. That’s when the life insurance and retirement industry became his new direction.  Having zero experience in this industry to start with it was a leap of faith to leave CCSD and join Universal Retirement to help individuals become financially stable in retirement. Universal Retirement’s connection with CCSD and helping its employees become financially savvy and secure hit home with Joey. Building relationships and trust with clients and families is Joey’s top priority. He values his connections to individuals to truly understand their needs. He is dedicated to listening and working alongside each individual to provide options that will meet their financial goals. Joey is no stranger to hard work and surrounds himself with knowledgeable professionals that work together as a team.
